RedRoots (sometimes stylized Red Roots) are a ska/dance band featuring Terry Sphinx, Mark Hebden, Sam Neild and Nicodemus Flower. [1] On the basis of their live shows alone and with no official releases, they have gained support slots and several tour slots alongside The Libertines[2][3], Babyshambles[4][5], Pete Doherty[6][7], Estelle, and The Thirst.

Music

RedRoots play ska influenced pop music citing Desmond Dekker, Bob Marley as influences.

RedRoots won the Xfm Uploaded Radio Chart Competition in July 2008[8] which gained their track "More and More" significant exposure through Xfm DJ Steve Harris's Xfm show and exposed the band to a large audience. As winners of the competition, the band were selected to open the 2008 Wakestock festival.[9] The band were invited to play Animal Windfest.[10]. In April 2009, the band played alongside Pete Doherty and The Paddingtons, in rememberance of music promoter Johnny 'Rhythm' Seddassy at the Rhythm Factory.[5]
