Heilongjiang University

Heilongjiang University (黑龙江 大学 Hēi-lóng-jiāng dà-xué) is a multi-disciplinary university in the city of Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, People's Republic of China.

Heilongjiang University was founded on March 1941, in the base of China's communist revolution Yan'an. It dates back to the Russian Language Group, Number 3 school-level division, Military and Politics University of the Anti-Japanese invasion, China (中国 抗日 军政 大学 第三 分校 俄文 队 Zhōng-guó kàng-rì jūn-zhèng dà-xué dì-sān fēn-xiào É-wén duì), an institute dedicated to the training of military translators.

Several names varied,it was called the Forgein Language School of Ya'an in the early time of 1940s. After the PLA liberating in 1946,the Forgein Language School moved to Harbin as a junior college conducted by the HQ of Northeastern Democratic Army (also a group of PLA). In 1958, the college was extended, and rebuilt as Heilongjiang University.

Heilongjiang University's Russian Language Studies program is considered the best in China.

In addition to normally enrolled Chinese students, Heilongjiang University is host to a range of foreign exchange students, primarily Russian and Korean. In recent years, Fulbright Fellows studying Mandarin Chinese through the National Security Language Initiative have studied at Heilongjiang University, in part due to the perceived purity of the Northeastern dialect of Mandarin.

Heilongjiang University, a fully equipped teaching, good teaching conditions, campus covers an area of 1.91 million square meters, construction area of 1.16 million square meters, teaching equipment worth 300 million yuan, more than 390 million copies of book collections, with a capacity of three thousand students residential life, university city, and state of the art laboratory building, teaching building, library, gymnasium, swimming pool, dining centers, school infrastructure, and broadband network, multimedia and other modern teaching resources.

   Heilongjiang University of strong teachers, teacher atmosphere, and talent gathered. The existing staff of more than 3 200, of which more than 2 000 full-time teachers, tutor 552 people, of teachers with senior professional titles and more than 900. Currently, the school has more than 120 universities in foreign substantive cooperation and exchanges, more than 20 years, more than 7,500 students were training. These include the UK's Leeds University and Bradford University, the University of Illinois, the University of Paris X, France, South Korea and Japan's Niigata University, Hunan University, and so on. 20 years, more than 8,500 students were training.
