He was one of the most successful African American athletes in sports history (he is one quarter African American), breaking Wayne Gretzky's goal, assist, point, and plus/minus records, winning six Hart Trophies, a 30 time all star, and 19 Stanley Cups. He was also one of the oldest to play the game, ending his career at age 48 while playing consistent, scoring 30 goals and 30 assists in most of his career.
