Please do not add or change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to :Square wheel. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Note that an Internet forum is not a reliable source.<!-- Template:uw-unsourced2 --> - DVdm (talk) 09:22, 28 August 2010 (UTC) |

==Proposed deletion of Four glasses puzzle== |

|
|||
The article Four glasses puzzle has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern: |
|||
:Unremarkable game. Only reference is a blog. |
|||
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons. |
|||
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the <code>dated prod</code> notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. |
|||
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing <code>dated prod</code> will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.<!-- Template:PRODWarning --> Kudpung (talk) 07:17, 29 August 2010 (UTC) |

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from :Four glasses puzzle. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you.<!-- Template:uw-tdel1 --> Kudpung (talk) 07:39, 29 August 2010 (UTC) |

== Policy == |

Too many warnings of the kind with the blue icon, yellow icons or red icons can trigger an automatic signal. I prefer to ask politely that you refrain from making inappropriate edit summaries as you did HERE. --Kudpung (talk) 07:44, 29 August 2010 (UTC) |

:If I'd felt that my edit summaries were inappropriate, then I should not have made them. Androstachys (talk) 07:51, 29 August 2010 (UTC) |
|||
::Check the link I provided, and do please try to be less snarky around here. I do recommend you read the rules first. BTW, ther'es also a red warning for not making edit summaries - I notice that you rarely do. It's a requirement.--Kudpung (talk) 08:03, 29 August 2010 (UTC) |

:::I promise to be less snarky if you promise to do less bullying....Androstachys (talk) 08:29, 29 August 2010 (UTC) |

::::I've given you some perfectly polite, civil, and reasonable help. Putting the required tags on articles and explaining why, is what I do here among a lot of other things, and If I find more of your articles do not meet our requirements, I will point it out to you. You may have reaslised by now that your Glass Puzzle item could have been speedy deleted, now if you prefer, we can take the article to AfD and let the community decide. Nobody is bullying you, and I am not going to take the bait, because starting the trouble, then threatening to report people to ANi is called WP:GAME. --Kudpung (talk) 08:44, 29 August 2010 (UTC) |

:::::I'm not baiting you - I am suggesting that if good public relations are important to you, that you be less arrogant. Androstachys (talk) 08:50, 29 August 2010 (UTC) |

::::::Here's another one. Let's leave it at that now. --Kudpung (talk) 09:22, 29 August 2010 (UTC) |

"Unremarkable game. Only reference is a blog" - "Unremarkable game" is very much a subjective view - are you qualified to make such a judgement? Why not try finding an 'authoritative' reference rather than tagging the article for deletion? Androstachys (talk) 07:28, 29 August 2010 (UTC) |

::When you have a bit more experience. I might be a bit more tolerant of your WP:PA and WP:NICE. You may also wish to check out WP:RS, WP:CITE, and WP:V If you need help understanding these principles, please don't hesitate to ask ;) --Kudpung (talk) 07:34, 29 August 2010 (UTC) |

:::You may notice that I had replaced the reference which you objected to with one which might be more to your liking. Androstachys (talk) 07:48, 29 August 2010 (UTC) |

::::No, I'm afraid it's not. Do please read up on the strict policy we employ here for inclusion. I have given you the links above including the ones about how to communicate with other editors, and here are some more on inclusion. WP:FAILN, and WP:UNRS, WP:IINFO. It's a lot of bureaucracy and takes some understanding, so if you want some help, don't hesitate to ask, but please do it nicely.--Kudpung (talk) 08:00, 29 August 2010 (UTC) |

With this edit you accused me of 1) "stalking" you and 2) of "often peppering my edits with provocative remarks."<p>I would like you to have a careful read of WP:STALK, which says: "Proper use of an editor's history includes (but is not limited to) fixing errors or violations of Wikipedia policy or correcting related problems on multiple articles."<p>I have also asked you to show me examples of such provocative remarks. If I have indeed done so, please do show me, so I can adjust my style and apologise to you.<p>If by any chance you might come to the conclusion that I am in fact not stalking you as it is laid out in WP:STALK, and if you cannot show me such examples, I'd like you to <s>strike</s> your comment on my talk page. Thanks in advance. DVdm (talk) 10:08, 29 August 2010 (UTC) |

<div class="floatleft" style="margin-bottom:0"></div>I have nominated Four glasses puzzle, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Four glasses puzzle. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. <!-- Template:AFDWarning --> Elen of the Roads (talk) 15:19, 3 September 2010 (UTC) |

:Martin Gardner, who was a notable mathematician, felt it was notable enough to include it in his puzzles in Scientific American. It's solution is far from obvious and certainly not trivial - my guess is that fewer than 5 in a hundred people would solve it, and those people would probably have a maths background. As for 'venerable history' - I haven't seen this criterion in the puzzle category and I'm sure most of the puzzles already there don't fit that description. By the way, this puzzle is neither a game nor a sport.....Androstachys (talk) 06:47, 4 September 2010 (UTC) |

== Misconceptions relative to NP-complete == |

At 20:01, 5 September 2010, you edited NP-complete and said in your edit summary "please describe the misconceptions with your next revert". You should have noticed that right after reverting your previous edit (of 10:39, 26 August 2010), Mellum and others created a section specifically to address your misconceptions. It is NP-complete#Common misconceptions. I suggest that you read it. JRSpriggs (talk) 17:29, 6 September 2010 (UTC) |
