Roy Race is a fictional character from the British comic strip Roy of the Rovers. He is a professional footballer who plays for, and later manages, Melchester Rovers in the First Division and the Premier League.

Fictional Biography

Roy has three children, twins Roy "Rocky" and Melinda "Mel" (born 1977) and Diana (born 1982). His wife, Penny, is killed in a car crash in 1995.

Roy loses a leg in a helicopter crash in 1992, which ends his long footballing career.

In his spare time Roy enjoys fishing.

Rocky

Roy "Rocky" Chester Race was born on 15 May 1977. He plays for Mel Lane football team until he is 11, before playing for Melchester Rovers, his father's team, as an emergency replacement. He moves up to the first team in 1993.
