Phoberogale is an extinct genus of bear-like carnivores of the Oligocene and Miocene epoch, found in France (Europe), California (North America), and Pakistan (Asia), living from around 25 to 18 million years ago.

Phoberogale shareri was named after Kevin Sharer, Chairman of the Board of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County by Xiaoming Wang, Robert Hunt Jr, Richard Tedford and E. This species belongs to the Phoberogale–Phoberocyon lineage and is distinguished from species of Cephalogale (s.s.) by its larger size, less-reduced pre-carnassial premolars,and less-elongated M2.
