Makarios Avenue (Template:Lang-el) is an avenue in the center of Nicosia, Cyprus which covers a distance of 2 km. It's starting from Hilton Hotel and extends up to Agalma Square where is Capital's main bus station. It was named after the first president of Cyprus Makarios III. It is an undoubtedly famous shopping avenue which the shops located there -excluding numerous shopping streets connected to Makarios Avenue- cover a minimum distance of 1 km. An outstanding number of shops and cafeterias are located there. Additionally sushi bars, night clubs and Hotels are surrounding the avenue. Most high-rise buildings in Nicosia can be found there.
