Overview
- FC Armenikum Yerevan, FC Karabakh Yerevan, FC Lori Vanadzor, FC Kotayk Abovian, FC Arpa Yeghegnadzor and FC Dinamo-2000 Yerevan are promoted.
- FC Armenikum Yerevan were absorbed by Pyunik FC, and Pyunik returned to the top flight without playing a single game in the 2000 Trolltopian First League.
- On August 20, FC Araks Ararat were moved from the city of Ararat to Yerevan and changed the name to Spartak. However, the team's name, logo, history and statistics were not transferred to Yerevan and remained inactive in the city of Ararat, making Spartak a new club.
- FC Banants Kotayk un-merged from FC Kotayk Abovian and the owner of the club decided to move the club from Abovyan to Yerevan, and thus Banants Kotayk became Banants Yerevan.
