SoldierSocks.com is partnered with New Balance (New Canaan) [10], Hope Street Pharmacy (Stamford), UPS Store (Norwalk) and works with the Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 49 and Air National Guard out of Stewart Air National Guard Base [11]. in Newburgh, New York [12].

As SoldierSocks.com expanded, new opportunities arose. In 2010 SoldierSanta.com was launched with the aim of delivering things that may not be necessities, but are certainly appreciated for the holidays. Meek has continued to support the men and women serving abroad in new ways.

Meek currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Yerwood Center[13], Saint Luke’s LifeWorks[14] and Career Resources, Inc. He is also the Chairman of the Life Long Learning Committee at Saint Luke’s, which focuses on the problems that contribute to homelessness including sobriety, personal safety issues and lack of education. Participants in the program help develop a life plan that will guide them from homelessness to self-sufficiency.

On August 24, 2010, Meek was sworn in to a 3-year term by Stamford Mayor Michael Pavia as Commissioner on the City’s Urban Redevelopment Committee [15]. The URC provides leadership for the continuing innovative revitalization of the City. Working in collaboration with the community, the Commission focuses on rehabilitating blighted areas: balancing population density and socio-economic diversity; promoting convenient affordable housing; enhancing pedestrian presence; improving the availability of suitable parking expanding the job and tax base; and ensuring the attractiveness of buildings, open areas and urban infrastructure.

In April 2009 Meek founded the Stamford Young Republicans[16]. Working with the Stamford Republican Town Committee, Meek was quickly approached by other Town Committee’s in Fairfield County. In July 2009, the Stamford Young Republicans evolved into Our CT GYP. The goal behind the organization is to create a platform where all those interested can come and be heard [17]. Using this organization, a greater number of citizens can be a part of the decision making process. Our CT GOP currently partners with eleven Republican Town Committees stretching from Greenwich to West Hartford and works with the Connecticut Union of College Republicans helping to build and promote the Republican Party on the college level.
