Krzysztof Urbanski is 28 years old and was born in Pabianice, Poland. He is chief conductor of the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra in the 2010-11 season and in October 2010 was appointed an adjunct professor of music in the area of orchestral conducting in Indiana University. He becomes the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra seventh music director in 2011. Urbanski has conducted the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, several German orchestras, the Göteborgs Symfoniker, the Tokyo Symphony and Osaka Philharmonic Orchestras.

He promotes Polish music including Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1. Górecki's Symphony No. 3 and Lutosawski's Concerto for Orchestra. He has conducted most Polish Orchestras and many German ones over his short career. He became Assistant conductor to the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra from 2007 to 2009 and then became chief conductor of the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra in the 2010-11 season after playing with them once. In October 2010 he was appointed an adjunct professor of music in the area of orchestral conducting in Indiana University. He becomes the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra seventh music director in 2011..[2]

He has conducted - the Grant Park Orchestra in Chicago in June 2010 through Witold Lutoslawski’s Concerto for Orchestra, Krzesany by Wojciech Kilar, and concluded with Chopin Piano Concerto No. 1 with soloist Krzysztof Jablonski. [3]
