Gambling and the Law columns and articles cover all aspects of legal gambling, including casinos, lotteries, racing, sports betting, bingo and internet gaming. Gambling and the Law is the federally registered trademark of Professor I. Nelson Rose[1], recognized as one of the world’s leading experts on national and international gaming law.[2]

Professor Rose first started writing his "Gambling and the Law" columns exclusively for Gambling Times magazine in the 1980s. He used the title in his first book on gaming law, Gambling and the Law, published in 1986.[3] When Gambling Times folded, Professor Rose began self-syndicating his column, primarily to magazines and newspapers read by players and workers in the legal gambling industries. "Gambling and the Law" columns today are internationally syndicated, appearing in approximately 100 magazines, newspapers and journals. Many appear first in Casino Enterprise Management and Poker Player. Other publications that regularly carry the column both in hard copy and online include Harvard Medical School’s The Brief Addiction Science Information Source (BASIS) [4], iGaming Business, Casino City Times, Bingo Bugles, Eye on Gambling, RGT Online, Compatible Poker, and Gaming Law Review & Economics. The columns have also appeared in such diverse outlets as Public Television and Radio [5]. More than 1,000 Gambling and the Law columns have been published from 1983 to the present.

Prof. Rose also uses the trademark “Gambling and the Law” on articles for scholarly journals. These include “Gambling and the Law: The International Law of Remote Wagering," in the John Marshall Law Review [6]; “Gambling and the Law: The Third Wave of Legal Gambling,” in the Villanova Sports & Entertainment Law Journal [7]; and “Gambling and the Law: Internet Gambling and the Law,” in the Richmond Journal of Global Law & Business.[8]
