Article Forge

Don't worry about anything you see here. Experiments are purposefully informal and POV. I need to do this in order to relax my mind so that the words just come out. Rest assured that I will polish them to an acceptable point before implementing them. |

==Proper waxing procedures== |
Wax acts as a sacrificial barrier so that the paint doesn't have to. Washing a vehicle without waxing it afterwards is self defeating. An unwaxed vehicle is harder to clean and will accumulate scratches more easily. Waxing a vehicle does require extra effort but the pay-off is worth it. |
If a vehicle has been without a waxing for a number of years the vehicle will require a polishing. Over time a vehicle will be exposed to rain, wind, dirt, and smog all of which [[oxidize]] the paint. Polish is mildly abrasize in order to remove the oxidation. After the vehicle has been polished then further and regular applications of wax will help to prevent oxidation. |
Make sure the vehicle's surface is completely clean and dry before beginning. |
'''Equipment''' |
* Polish - if the vehicle has spent a long time without being waxed. |
* Wax |
* Terry cloth or micorfiber applicators |
Take an applicator and apply some wax to it. Apply the applicator to the surface of the car and rub from side to side until you have covered a single panel with an approximately equal amount of wax. Small circular movements should not be used in order to prevent fine circular scratches. |
