Provo Tabernacle

The Historic Provo Tabernacle is an icon of Provo, Utah. It has been home to many religious and recreational events.


Building

The construction for the tabernacle started in 1883. It was built for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a meeting place. Construction finished in 1898, at the cost of $100,000. In 1917, the cuppola was removed due to the roof sagging. [1]

Cultural Impact

The Provo Tabernacle was home to many concerts, LDS stake conferences, and other community events. In 1975, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
