Johannes Jisse (Hans) Duistermaat (The Hague, December 20, 1942 - Utrecht, March 19, 2010) was a Dutch mathematician. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from the Utrecht University in 1968 under the direction of Hans Freudenthal. After a short period spent at the University of Nijmegen in 1974 he was appointed a professor of pure and applied mathematics at the Utrecht University. He is best known for his contributions in the field of differential equations.
