Sacha Louise Parkinson was born on 11 March 1992 in Salford and is now living in Wigan.

Parkinson is best known for playing Anna Duncan in the 2007 series of the BBC school drama Grange Hill, and most recently for playing Sian Powers in the ITV1 soap Coronation Street.

Parkinson's earliest recorded TV role was in Channel 4's Films4Schools adaptation of Jacqueline Wilson's The Illustrated Mum in which she played Tasha alongside Michelle Collins and Holly Grainger.

More recently Parkinson has become a more prominent figure on British TV screens with appearances in The Bill as Rose Sterling, Lisa in Waterloo Road and Cassie Sawyer in Doctors alongside Steve Beckett and Diane Keen. Sacha has also appeared in The Royal as Polly Cruickshank, a tearaway school girl who contracts TB.

In an episode of Survivors, Parkinson plays Kate whose family have been held under house arrest by their neurotic and paranoid father after a deadly virus sweeps across the world alongside the likes of Max Beasley, Joseph Patterson and Neil Dudgeon. In the an episode of Shameless Sacha plays gobby Tracey Kelvin and in the feature film Awaydays set in Birkenhead in the 1970s, she again joined forces with Holly Grainger and a cast such as Stephen Graham, Nicky Bell, Liam Boyle, Lee Battle and Oliver Lee where she played Natasha, the girlfriend of Carty. She also played Shannon Peterson in Jimmy McGoverns The Street, again teaming up with Neil Dudgeon as her character's father, Lee Battle as her character's brother and Lindsey Coulsen. Most recently Parkinson was seen as Maria O'Callaghan in the dark and mysterious BBC children's drama set in the North East, Clay.

With one further feature film to add to the long list, Parkinson played the role of Leanne, a teenage mother whose baby is abducted by its equally as young father played by award-winning Kyle Ward who then embarks on an emotional roller-coaster of a journey to try to become a good dad in a Made Up North Production of A Boy Called Dad which is to be released in March 2010.

On 15 December 2008, it was announced Sacha was to join British soap opera Coronation Street,[1] where she will play Sian Powers. Sian first appeared on screen on 26 January 2009, she is the girlfriend of Sophie Webster and ex-girlfriend of Ryan Connor. She became half of the soap's first lesbian couple with Sophie Webster, which the show has made a permanent commitment to. Parkinson is currently with North West-based TV and film agents Laine Management and has been represented by Laine since the age of 6.
