Dave was born at Philadephia Naval Shipyard Hospital on November 10, 1953. His parents are the late Mildred Marie (Vandergrift) Shaver (1931-2008) and Charles Ray Shaver (1928-2008). |

Dave is the founder of Consumer Support Services, Inc. (CSS) www.cssinc.org, a not for profit corporation which is unique in all IRS 501(c)3 organizations. |

CSS serves people with significant and persistant mental illnesses. Dave founded the company because he had been diagnosed with Major Depression and Adjustment Disorder in 1990 after a career in Radio Broadcasting which ended in a divorce and child custody battle. This was the trigger which revealed his "mental illness". This is why the company, CSS is unique, because he had designed the company to be operated by people diagnosed with a mental illness. |
