Dean Morgan Academy, also known as Dean Morgan ([[株式会社]] DEAN MORGAN, ''Kabushiki Kaisha Dean Morgan'') is a chain of [[Eikaiwa]] ([[English]] conversation schools) and Futsukaiwa ([[French]] conversation schools) in [[Japan]].
The company was founded in 2004<ref>http://www.japantoday.com/category/executive-impact/view/teaching-japan-a-lesson</ref>, and is currently headquartered in [[Shinjuku-ku]] in Tokyo. There are two schools in Shinjuku. The founder, current President and CEO is Dean Rogers. The company provides language lessons on a "one-to-one" (one student and one teacher) basis using textbook lessons and online instructor aids. Dean Morgan describes itself as a "man-to-man eikaiwa"

==Meaning of the Company Name==
Originally, there were two founders : Dean Rogers ([[USA]]) and Morgan Terigi ([[France]]). They decided to combine their first names to form the name of the school.
The school was originally called Dean Morgan Academy, in 2007, the name was officially shortened to Dean Morgan.
The acronym DMA is still often used.

==Founding and History==
The company was founded in April 2004<ref>http://www.japantoday.com/category/executive-impact/view/teaching-japan-a-lesson</ref>, and the first school was opened on [[July 14th]] 2004. In 2005, Dean Rogers became the sole owner <ref>http://www.japantoday.com/category/executive-impact/view/teaching-japan-a-lesson</ref>. The first school was opened in [[Nishi-Shinjuku]], offering English and French lessons.

In September 2006, the SALA schools brand was acquired and added to the Dean Morgan schools portfolio providing one to one and group lessons at 2 primary locations in Umeda and Namba, in Osaka <ref>http://www.sa-la.jp/about.html</ref>. The Senrioka school was founded around this time.

In 2008, the [[Hummingbird Pronunciation]] schools brand was acquired and integrated into the Dean Morgan schools portfolio. Hummingbird is a patented English Pronunciation<ref>http://www.patentgenius.com/patent/5286205.html</ref> method that has operated in Japan for over 10 years.

English, French and patented Hummingbird Pronunciation lessons are taught in all Dean Morgan and SALA branches.

As of July 2010, there are a total of nine schools located in Tokyo and Osaka, with nearly 2000 students.
