The Film and Television Institute of Tamil Nadu (FTIT) run by the Government of Tamil Nadu is one of the premier Film institute. It is also three popular Institutions in the country imparting training in the various techniques and aesthetics of Film and Television production. The other two Institutions are run by the Government of India at Pune and Kolkatta.
The institute also called as M.G.R Film and Television Institute of Tamil Nadu. The following Diploma courses are conducted in the Film and Television Institute of Tamil Nadu.
1. Direction and Screenplay writing 2. Cinematography 3. Sound Recording and Sound Engineering 4. Film processing 5. Film Editing
The Government of Tamil Nadu are presenting an award of one soverign gold medal, Rs.5,000/- and a memento to the Best Director, Best cinematographer, Best Editor, Best Sound recordist and Best Film Processor of the short films produced by the students of this institute.
