The 2011 Iowa Hawkeyes will represent the University of Iowa during the 2011 college football season. The Hawkeyes will be led by head coach Kirk Ferentz, who will be in his 13th season, and will play their homes games at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City, Iowa.

The game started out rather slow for Iowa, and new starting Quarterback James Vandenberg, as Iowa was turned away from the end zone on their first possession, opting to settle for a field goal instead, making the score 3-0 after five minutes taken off the game clock, they would not score until their third possession, when Vanderberg ran in from the 2-yard line giving Iowa a 10-0 lead. Midway into the first quarter, back up Running Back freshman Mika'il McCall went down, it would be stated later on that he suffered a broken ankle, and would be out for the rest of the season. Wide Receiver Marvin McNutt would have one of his best games as a starter, as Vandenberg found him twice for touchdowns, including a spectacular 83 yard reception. Cornerback Shawn Prater would also break a personal record, as he ran an interception 88 yards for a score, another field goal would finish Iowa's scoring, now leaving the game 34-0 going into the second half, there would be no scoring by either team until near the end of the game, when Tennessee Tech would finally get on the board. The final score of the game would end up 34-7 in Iowa's favor, giving Ferentz his 100th win as head coach at Iowa, and putting to rest, several questions about Iowa's ability to be a contender for the Big Ten title, without the presence of Defensive End Adrian Clayborn, Wide Receiver Derrell Johnson-Koulianos, and Running Back Adam Robinson, as Clayborn had graduated the previous off season, and Koulianos, and Robinson had been expelled by the University, and kicked off the team for their arrests for Drug Possession during the off-season.
