Gas injection in the oil industry refers to pumping different sorts of gases to the subsurface oil reservoirs in order to stimulate the crude oil . Gas injection along with water flooding are categorized as the secondary recovery of the petroleum . The composition of the gas maybe different such as carbon dioxide, air and nitrogen .
