Pape Amodou Sougou (born on 18 December 1984 in Fissel, Senegal) is a Senegalese football player who currently plays for romanian club CFR Cluj in the Liga I. He usually plays as a winger.

Career

Beginning

Sougou started his career as a teenager at AS Douanes, a football team in Dakar, Senegal. He moved to U.D. Leiria.

Vitoria

After a year at U.D. Leiria he moved to Vitoria FC where he spent the 2005–2006 season playing 27 games. In July 2006 Sougou accepted a contract at U.D. Leiria where he moved after completing a medical to complete his return to the club.

Return to Leiria

After completing his return to the club, Sougou made 37 appearances in total in his second spell at the club, scoring also 6 goals. U.D. Leiria accepted an offer for him from the Portuguese Liga side Académica de Coimbra. In July 2008 he completed his move there.

Académica de Coimbra

After moving to Académica de Coimbra he started off his time there as a fringe player and after a few games the manager Domingos Paciência was impressed by his effort and performance and then secured a first team place for a while. In the summer of 2009 Académica de Coimbra brought in a new manager, André Villas Boas and he took a liking to Sougou and then he was put in the starting 11 regularly; he finished off the 2009–2010 season on a high scoring 6 goals in the final stage of the Portuguese Liga season.

CFR Cluj

In June 2011 Sougou joined Liga I side CFR Cluj. He had a perfect start with the romanian squad socring two goals in the first two games.

International career

He made his Senegal debut in 2008 in the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations after impressive performances on his club.
