Hello. Could you have a look at this? [[Nuclear_program_of_Iran#Zbigniew_Brzezinski]], ''However, the President of Iran recently called for Israel to be "wiped off the map" [31]''. I suppose it's simplification and some changes might be made, to make it more factual. I think i could do it. But i don't know farsi, so can't refer to the original text. White (people)

In response to this, it's offensive to Jews, like me. Almost all of my great-grandfather's siblings were killed because of the belief in a master race. --Khoikhoi 22:58, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I agree. That's why it said here that it's usage is considered offensive. Hag Pesach Sameach. --Khoikhoi 23:43, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Big not huge for Farsi script

Hi, just wanted to say thanks for cutting the Farsi back from huge to just big on Iran. I have this bad habit of editing late at night, especially when I should be asleep. The script didn't look big enough at the time but in the light of day and after some sleep, it did look huge. Thanks again. Green Giant 01:37, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Could you comment on the use of this image in that article? Lily Afshar's image has a fair use tag, so I don't think it can be used in that article. AucamanTalk 22:25, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It could be used in the article, the problem is it can't be used to make a derivative work, which the combined image is. So that combined image shouldn't be on wikipedia. Image:Lily_afshar.jpg could still be used in the article though, if you were discussing her, but probably not in a general "here is an Iranian woman" sort of way. Thanks for catching that, I have marked the combined image as no license. If you have any other questions let me know - cohesiont 05:44, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Could you leave a comment on Talk:Iranian peoples telling them that the image cannot be used for decorative purposes? I've tried removing the image, but they just put it back in. AucamanTalk 07:04, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Done. :) I didn't remove it from the page right now, I will let it follow the normal procedure, it will be removed within 7 days, unless there is other action. - cohesion 07:22, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. There's also this image which doesn't seem to list its source. AucamanTalk 07:26, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That picture is okay so stop creating a fuss 72.57.230.179 08:08, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that the image is not sourced, however, to maintain some neutrality I prefer to deal with images within the normal process, unless they are exceptional enough that I think they may not be handled correctly. The collage image was an example of that. This is a simple "no source" image that I didn't find through any editing of my own, so I hesitate to tag it when you could just as easily, and in a more legitimate way, since you are working on the article. If you have any image questions though I'd be happy to help, but I'm slightly uncomfortable with just pointing out images for me to tag. If you want to learn more about tagging images see Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. - cohesion 17:29, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Since it's my first time doing this, I'm going to need some help. I asked Zmmz for the source and he has provided the name of website, not a direct link to the image. The website and most of the images appear to be copyrighted, but I'm not sure how to move on from here. Should I ask Zmmz for a direct link? Or should I add {{imagevio}}? AucamanTalk 04:43, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, it seems like the creator gave that user special permission to use the image. Unfortunately permission to use a copyrighted image isn't enough to allow us to use it on wikipedia. We need the image to be licensed under a free licence like the GFDL or Creative Commons. I retagged the image, so you can see how you can handle that. If you have any other questions, let me know :D - cohesion 05:19, 21 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RFAr evidence

I've been spending the last several hours going over this case. I'm about to post some proposals to the decision page. These proposals will actually cover editors other than yourself, as well. Take a look over them, and only provide relevant evidence for whatever you think is missing. Note that even if I move the case to voting now, it won't be closed in 7 days as arbitration is a long process that requires a majority of the active arbitrators to all look at it, so you have time, and I'll be watching for new evidence. What did I remove that you had put in?

Sorry, I'm not clear on what I deleted that you had put in. Tombseye 16:50, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was actually putting back the genetics section, but I think the article link has merit as it's an academic work and refers to the Iranian peoples regardless of whether the focus is on the Kurds or not. The 2nd source, I agree, is indeed about Iran and not the Iranian peoples and I will delete it as it lacks relevance. Tombseye 17:46, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
