PLOT SUMMARY
This is the second book in the Lost Fleet series that follows the adventures of Black Jack Geary. We begin with Jack and the fleet coming into a new system. As they pull in the systems start up and they get an idea what is in the system. Upon detecting two ships, some of the ships in the fleet break formation and charge right after the ships not knowing that a mine field trap had been layed. Upon notifying the ships it had been to late. The ships fly right into the mine field. During a meeting after the incident it had been noted that there had been discussion about the former happenings. Jack not wanting to fight and all this was cowardly. So they set out to raid the system of resources and to leave the civilian population be. They discover that there is a prisioner colony and set of to liberate the POW. Once done they leave the colony and he discovers that there is a war hero in a group of POW, and he decides to take control of the fleet.
