Al-Hidd bin Ali Al-Bastaki (Arabic: الحِد بن علي البستكي) was an Arabian militia leader who ordered the take over of the town of Al Hidd (then called Aldosariya), Bahrain in the mid 18th century.

Invasion of Al Hidd
A native of Al Hidd called Saud Aljunayd was in Qatar to sell gold and one day armed militiants led by Al-Hidd Al-Bastaki attacked him, stole his gold and money, cut off his body parts and then left. When Aljunayd's tribe heard about this, they asked the King of Bahrain's vizer Madan Al-Jidhafsi to track down the killers, bring them to Bahrain and execute them, but he refused to do so.

The Aljunayds then sent letters to Sunni Arab tribes in Qatar and asking them to find the killers and bring them to Bahrain and if they do so they will get a 5,000,000 dirham (The Gulf currency back then) award.

When Al-Hidd Al-Bastaki heard about this, he decided to invade Al-Hidd. So one day, he and his militia boarded a civilian ship heading to Aldosariya and after arriving, Al-Bastaki's militia killed half of the inhabitants and he declared himself ruler of the town, renaming it to Al-Hidd.
