History
Formed in 2009 by Brothers Andrew Fleming and Lee Fleming with the idea to create a unique sound, The Unsung Heroes was originally a three-piece band including Andrew , Lee and Daniel Moon. Adrian Neal at the time was a member of Middlesbrough-based band The Master Colony. The Unsung Heroes played their first gig at The Ku Bar in Stockton in January 2010 supporting The Travelling Band, Paul Watson was at that gig and joined the band that night, by this point several tracks had already been made available to download free via music sharing site SoundCloud. This had gathered the group a following already and made the first gig a success, and following attention from Leon Pape of Grass Route Radio, the band were offered a headline gig at Leeds Venue Carpe Diem.

In June 2011 the band were offered a Headlining slot on the main stage at Crook FEST festival 2011, which they accepted. After performing extensively throughout 2011. It was at this point ex bass player "Lee Fleming" walked out to pursue a solo career. ""Andrew"" quickly recruited his older brother ""Jimmy Fleming"" to occupy the position. "Andrew, Jimmy and Paul" had all been members of the same band before, during 2001-2007, supporting bands such as Razorlight , Milburn , Arctic Monkeys, The Futureheads, The Delays , Longview, The Bandits and Reverend and the Makers

Reception
The band attracted much favourable attention early on, being compared to fellow indie bands The Smiths , Joy Division , The Clash, The Jam and The Rifles (band).

Discography
Although primarily available to download, The Unsung Heroes's tracks can be found on disc.
