This book is more commonly known as 'The Visconti Hours', and is called such in pretty much every book and paper I've ever seen on the topic. The Visconti Hours, National Library, Florence Millard Meiss and Edith W. Kirsh, Brazillier, Inc., 978-0807606513 says that the Visconti Hours is a classic example of the personal prayer books of the period, which were generally made for wealthy lay persons. It is composed of iron gall inks, various pigments and materials, including the expensive and rare lapis lazuli blue, mixed with egg yolk or gum arabic, and three kinds of gold, including gold emulsion and burnished gold leaf, on animal vellum. The text is a Gothic miniscule font that is also known as blackletter calligraphy.
