Information Builders is a privately held software company, with its headquarters in New York City. Information Builders is known for their business intelligence tools FOCUS and WebFOCUS.
History
Information Builders was founded in 1975 by Gerald D. Cohen, Peter Mittelman, and Martin B. Slagowitz. Their founding product was the database system called FOCUS.
In 2001, they established iWay Software, a wholly owned company that focuses on data integration and service-oriented architecture (SOA).
Today, the company has a worldwide presence with 47 sales offices and 26 national distributors and agents. They have more than 1400 employees worldwide and their revenue in 2007 was more than $315 million, with double digit growth in software license revenue.
