The Memphis Blues was a name used by two minor league baseball teams from Memphis, Tennessee that played from 1968 to 1976. The Texas League Memphis Blues franchise played in the Texas League from 1968 to 1973 and were affiliated with the New York Mets. The Texas League team was the first Memphis, Tennessee based minor league team in eight years.[1] The Texas League Memphis Blues franchise are today known as the Corpus Christi Hooks.[2] The International League Memphis Blues franchise played in the International League from 1974 to 1976 and were affiliated with the Montreal Expos and Houston Astros in 1976. The International League Memphis Blues franchise doesn't exist today. Both teams played their home games at Tim McCarver Stadium.[3] After the completion of the 1976 season the International League Memphis Blues was forfeited back to the International League due to financial difficulties.
