Obbattu is a traditional type of (sweet flatbread) made in India in the states of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Goa.

Holige or Obbattu is something that is very special in feast. It is generally prepared for very special occasions and festivals. There are also many varieties, like peanut obbattu, sugar obbattu, Coconut(kai) obbattu, tur dal (bele) obbattu, sesame (ellu) obbattu, Ground nut obbattu etc. The principle is the same. Prepare a sweet filling using the key ingredient then stuff it inside a flour dough, roll it out and cooking it on a hot griddle with oodles of ghee.
