Black Canyon City is a census-designated place located in Yavapai County, Arizona. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 2,697.
Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 51.7 km² (20.0 mi²). 51.7 km² (20.0 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there were 2,697 people, 1,241 households, and 771 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 52.1/km² (135.1/mi²). There were 1,409 housing units at an average density of 27.2/km² (70.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 95.85% White, 0.15% Black or African American, 1.22% Native American, 0.19% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.74% from other races, and 1.82% from two or more races. 3.41% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 1,241 households out of which 18.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.5% were married couples living together, 6.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.8% were non-families. 30.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.17 and the average family size was 2.64.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 17.5% under the age of 18, 4.9% from 18 to 24, 23.8% from 25 to 44, 32.3% from 45 to 64, and 21.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 47 years. For every 100 females there were 109.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 108.1 males.
