This online movement (the "manosphere") arose in response to what they felt was the well documented censorship in the mainstream media of any male opinions on gender issues that dissented from what they refer to as feminist doctrine. So although the movement literally contains hundreds of sites that receive a HUGE amount of combined web traffic, regardless of whether it's because of this censorship they mention or because of their own choice, they are ABSOLUTELY INVISIBLE in the mainstream media. In addition to the fact that its obviously more accurate to document them by referring to them directly, there is also NO OTHER WAY to document them. I'm sure you agree wikipedia shouldn't be robbed of the opportunity to be more complete. |

After an extensive search, I was unable to find significant coverage of "the manosphere" in independent, reliable sources other than two columns on the SPLC website. Tens of thousands of websites, blogs and forums are devoted to subjects that don't belong in Wikipedia. Large or even HUGE volumes of web traffic do not establish notability. Reliable news sources this week reported the HUGE web response to photos of a kitten that looks grumpy, another subject not suitable for Wikipedia. Your emphasis above is out of context; it appears that you're choosing to misinterpret the guidelines to support your position. I read your submissions to [[WP:AfC|articles for creation]] on Manosphere and Dalrock. In my opinion, they are not suitable for Wikipedia. Wikipedia is [[WP:NOTADVOCATE|not a place for advocacy]]. You are advocating for those subjects. That you "feel" that it needs to be documented and "they felt" like victims doesn't change Wikipedia guidelines and policies. Wikipedia isn't the place to "document this movement." I suggest that you draft some definitive articles on the manosphere and submit them to reliable sources like major newspapers and magazines. Proposed Ban Against the "Manosphere"
I have stated that it is my purpose to document the "Manosphere". In contrast with the topics targeted by single purpose editors, this is a broad topic area which is distinctly different from men's rights, as some participants in the Manosphere are in favor of campaigning for men's rights and some are diametrically opposed to doing so. I am learning wikipedia and with earnest effort my articles will eventually be published as I have no doubt that the editing process is free and fair. Please note that all of my articles were written within a short time and submitted. I am awaiting feedback before proceeding. I have not "continued to submit" anything as you have claimed.
Furthermore it is offensive, and highly improper according to wikipedia's own standards that you as an editor seek out topics to edit in which you most demonstratedly have extremely strong opinions (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/Archive242), and then edit away and attempt to ban any departures from your own views. Wikipedia bans are not to be used in retaliation against users
The kind of blatant ideological crusade you have engaged in makes a mockery of the efforts of honest wikipedians who donate their free time to this truly wonderful endeavor. As an editor who has directly attacked me in public forums, your efforts to have me banned can only be construed as censorship of the worst kind. I will always humbly submit to wikipedia's standards of editing and will make every effort to improve my articles given the opportunity, but the kind of censorship you propose would deface this great public institution to exclude topics you personally find do not suit your agenda.
I have on many occasions sought out help from more experienced wikipedians.
I'd appreciate your help in this matter since I've set about documenting an almost exclusively online movement (the "manosphere") that nevertheless consists of hundreds of websites, blogs, and forums.
There can be no justification for banning me from a topic on which I have made good faith efforts to document a real and growing movement. If however you do decide to pursue that I be banned from the topic of the manosphere it is for the Wikipedia community to decide, by consensus, to impose a ban.
