Margaret Packham Hargrave is an Australian novelist (''Jake's Luck'', 1994 and ''A Woman of Air'', 1996). The latter novel was the winner of the inaugural Elle/Random Huse Fiction Prize.

Margaret Packham was born in Sydney in 1941. She studied Voice and Viola at the NSW Conservatorium of Music concurrently with Nursing at Sydney Hospital. Subsequently, she completed a BA in English and Psychology at UNE and a DipEd at MCAE and had a career as an English teacher before committing herself to writing. She is moving from literary fiction to mystery writing. She has had numerous short stories and poems published in ''Westerly'', ''Meanjin'', ''The Sydney Morning Herald'', ''Cleo'', ''Grass Roots'' and ''Matilda''.
