This rifle has been recently updated to the AR50-A1'''B''' with smoother action, attractive new bolt stop, reinforced muzzle brake, and even greater strength than the original AR-50. The AR50-A1B is designed to be an economical answer for the challenges of long range shooting. The AR-50A1B is amazingly accurate and with its massive fluted muzzle brake, it has a very gentle recoil. The available rifle configurations are: AR-50A1B chambered for standard .50 BMG, AR50-A1BNM Chambered for .50 BMG Match Grade Ammunition, and AR50-A1B-416 chambered for .416 Barrett.

ArmaLite introduces the AR-50A1 National Match. The AR-50A1 National Match is similar to our standard AR-50A1 with some VERY important differences. The AR-50A1 NM is produced from selected components: The National Match’s 33 inch barrel is three inches longer than the standard AR-50A1’s barrel. The barrel has eight flutes. The flutes help with cooling and reduce unnecessary weight while maintaining accuracy-enhancing stiffness. The barrel has a 50 BMG Match chamber instead of a standard military chamber. The result: sub MOA accuracy.
The AR-50A1 National Match is similar to the AR-50A1 with some differences that make it a better bench rest competition rifle. It is made from specificly selected components: a 50 BMG Match chambered 33 inch barrel that has eight flutes for better cooling, reducing weight while maintaing stiffness that aids in sub-MOA accuracy.

The AR50-A1BNM a “Skid System” that’s meant for serious match use and comes standard. The ArmaLite Skid System provides rests on the rifle that are parallel with the bore of the rifle so when it recoils, it will recoil straight back. This has been requested by match shooters. The front skid attaches to the slot in the forestock similar to the way bipod rails are attached. The rear skid attaches to the buttstock. Armalite developed the Skid System without modification to the AR-50A1’s original parts so the system can be used by shooters who already own an AR-50A1 and want to use their original stock with NO MODIFICATIONS.
The AR50-A1BNM has a Skid Plate System on the stock that comes standard; it provides rests on the rifle parallel to the bore of the rifle so it recoils straight back. This has been requested by match shooters. The front skid attaches to the slot in the forestock similar to the way bipod rails are attached. The rear skid attaches to the buttstock.

The heart of the rifle is its metallic stock-to-action interface. The patented V-Lock™ Bedding Wedge and V-Block Stock assure absolute strength and repeatability for superb accuracy. The aluminum stock reinforces the receiver like a bench-rest sleeve.

It’s not just the bedding that improves accuracy. Independent testing has proven the AR-50A1 muzzle brake to be the best in the industry for both recoil control and accuracy. It scrapes away turbulent muzzle gasses and lets the bullet break into clean air for amazing accuracy.

The ArmaLite AR-50 is a single shot bolt action rifle manufactured by ArmaLite.

Design

The AR-50 rifle utilizes weight and a large fluted muzzle brake to provide very mild recoil. The AR-50 weighs approximately 34 pounds and is a single shot bolt action rifle. The barrel is extremely thick and rigid to minimize the "whip" effect of rifle barrels which flex when fired.

The receiver features Armalite's unique octagonal design which strengthens the receiver against flexing. The receiver is bedded to the V-shaped stock while the barrel is free floated above the forend. The three piece AR-50 stock is constructed from aluminum and features an extruded forend, machined skeleton butt stock with removable and vertically adjustable butt plate.

This rifle has been recently updated to the AR50-A1B with a smoother action, new bolt stop that can be depressed by hand to release the bolt, and a stronger reinforced muzzle brake. The AR50-A1B is an affordable solution for the challenges of long range shooting with the 50 BMcartridges Barrett cartidges. The AR-50A1B very accurate and the large muzzle brake makes for a very gentle recoil. The available rifle configurations are: AR-50A1B chambered for standard .50 BMG, AR50-A1BNM Chambered for .50 BMG Match Grade Ammunition, and AR50-A1B-416 chambered for .416 Barrett.

Specs on the new AR50-A1B-416 are:

This rifle is exactly like the AR-50A1 except for the chamber and barrel; they were changed to accept the .416 Barrett cartridge. The AR-50A1-.416 Barrett has the same ArmaLite patented V-Lock™ Bedding Wedge and V-Block Stock that create absolute strength for superb accuracy. The aluminum stock reinforces the receiver.

What makes this model unique is the .416 Barrett cartridge. The .416 caliber projectile is capable of supersonic speeds out to the 2,500 yards. That is the key to achieving long range accuracy. The .416 Barrett uses a lighter, more slim bullet that was designed using low supersonic drag equations. That results in high muzzle velocity and exceptional ballistic performance.

The AR50-A1-.416 has soft recoil from its large fluted muzzle brake. This means even the most recoil-sensitive person, will enjoy shooting the rifle.

THE AR-50A1-416 IS LEGAL TO SELL AND OWN IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
