Raquel Elizabeth Cordova[1] (born June 28, 1982),[1][2] better known by her stage name Raq-C, is a American radio personality, actress and motivational speaker of Salvadoran descent. She is the founder of a non-profit known as "Amigas 4 My Soul",[3] where she strives to motivate and inspire women.

Early life

Cordova, the youngest child[4] of Mauricio and Cecilia Cordova,[5] was born in Artesia, California.[2][5] She was raised in the Rubidoux neighborhood of Riverside, California[2] with her two older siblings.[5] She graduated from Rubidoux High School[5] and attended the Academy of Radio and Television Broadcasting in Huntington Beach, California[5] as well as the Rio Hondo College in Whittier, California.[2]

Career

Radio

Cordova got her first break in radio as an intern at the urban radio station KPWR ("Power 106").[6][4] She later landed the morning position for KKUU.[6][4] She then became a street team member for KLAX.[5] Shorty after, she accepted an on-air position with regional mexican radio station WLEY in Chicago, Illinois.[6][4] In October 2005, she joined KXOL ("Latino 96.3").[6][4]

Television

In July 2010, she teamed up with her fellow friend, Janney "Chiquis" Marin in mun2’s reality show Jenni Rivera Presents: Chiquis & Raq-C.[7][8] The show is based on two close friends of different styles and backgrounds. She has made guest appearances on several television projects.[7]
