It also owns the sole rights to "The World Chess Championship" (USPTO Service mark Principal Register Registration # 2,724,670. The organization is not connected with FIDE, the International Chess Federation. The organization recognizes its champions throughout history at its World Chess Federation Hall of Fame TM at www.wcfchess.org. The organization was cofounded by Bobby Fischer who won "The World Chess Championship" in WCF #1 in Serbia-Montenegro in 1992. |

"The World Chess Championship" title was the personal property of Alekhine and WCF contends that FIDE the International Chess Federation never acquired legal rights to said title after Alekhine's assassination in 1946 by NKVD on Stalin';s orderes to attempt to acquire title for Soviets through a match tournament.
