Eminent writer and historian Nakul Chandra Bhuyan was born into a distuinguished family of Charing in Sibsagar District of Assam in the year 1895. After having passed

his matriculation from Jorhat Government Boys' School in the year 1916, he went on to pursue further studies in Calcutta. He returned from Calcutta in 1921 and began

working as a Librarian in Dibrugarh, Assam. After some years, he joined work as an Assistant in the Chief Engineering Department of Dibru-Sadiya Railways and

thereafter as assistant in Deputy Commissioner's office. In 1923 he was transfered to Tezpur which was a boon for his career as a writer. In Tezpur Bann stage he cam

into contact with theatre personalities, magnetic appeal of theatre drew him. There he got inspiration to write plays for stage thereby changing his means of

livelihood. In 1924 left government job and jouIned Cinamara TE, Assistant Manager. Dedication and hard work, sincerity led him to be the manager of Jorehaut Tea

Company. In 1954 he retired from Borsapori Tea Estate. In 1954 he started living in Kushal Konwar path of Jorhat.
