Cheryl B. Schrader (born c. 1962) became chancellor of Missouri University of Science and Technology in April 2012.

Schrader received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with a concentration in computers and communications from Valparaiso University in 1984; and master's and doctorate degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 1987 and 1991. She consulted for McDonnell Douglas Astronautics in the 1980s and Chimera Research then started a teaching career first at Notre Dame, then Rice University in 1991 and then University of Texas at San Antonio tenured professor in electrical engineering and served as associate dean. In 2005 she became professor and dean of the College of Engineering at Boise State University where its engineering undergraduate enrollment increased 60 percent during her tenure. In January 2011 she became associate vice president for strategic research initiatives in Boise State's Division of Research and Economic Development.[1][2][3]

She is a past president of the IEEE Control Systems Society. a member of ABET, Inc. Accreditation Commission. She received Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring from the White House (2005); the IEEE Education Society Hewlett-Packard/Harriett B. Rigas Award; the Idaho Women Making History Award; and the WebCT Exemplary Online Course Award. She was also named one of Valparaiso University’s Top 150 Most Influential People.[4]

Schrader's husband, Jeff, previously served as chief legal counsel for the Idaho State Board of Education; the couple's son, Andrew, is attending Valparaiso University and daughter Ella is beginning elementary education.[3]
