Korean traditional games are continuous with seasonal customs. Men's play is 'kick' and 'hit' that are aggressive and intense. On the other hand, Women's play is 'game' and 'jump' that are soft hand action and rhythmical. Traditional games are influenced traditionally by the spirit of the age. So it is difficult to separate the men and women games. It is because that there broke an old custom and overcame the sexism gradually.

Traditional games of Korea are referred to as folk entertainment, folk games, or indigenous entertainment. The games provide competition, pleasure, entertainment, and artistic value.[1]

 Top-spinning is play that children whip a top to make it spin by using stick on ice or on the ground. In winter, everyone comes out with top and enjoys top-spinning. It is played on a national scale for a long time. There are various name according to the location. Top is made by cutting wood. It is good that top is made up of a kind of birch, jujube tree, pine tree. Because that trees are heavy and hard. As a result top's tip is also heavy and hard. So top spins for long.

 When you spin top, you hit the top's body and top spins. Sometimes people spins top alone, but usually everyone spins top together. So there are various play methods.[2]

  • Fighting with top

It usually happens between two peoples. First, they spin theirs top. According to the sign, they hit the opponent's spin. At this time, my spin and opponent's spin bump against each other. If the opponent's spin falls, you win.

  • Spinning top a long time

First, two people spin the top. According to the sign, they stop spinning the top. And the game is decided by spinning the top longer time.

  • Spinning top far way

On the line that is already drawn, two people hit theirs top at the same time. It is a way to compete to go far way and spin for long time.

 Kite flying is play that flies a kite in the sky. Kite frame is made up of bamboo tree. It is attached the paper. Kite is created rectangle or stingray shape. And it is connected by thread. After this process, you can fly a kite. Kite flying is the representative of traditional games in winter with sliding, top-spinning. Not only children abut also adults usually play kite flying. The time of flying a kite is from Lunar New Year's Day to Daeboreum. Since then, kite's thread cuts and kite sends up. People dose not fly a kite any more. It is because that they worry about farming prepare in case that year' farming is delayed. Korea's kite uses a scientific principle in comparison with other country's kite. And this play includes ancestor's wisdom that people flies a kite against the cold in winter instead of being afraid cold.[3]

  • Flying a kite high in the sky

If kite flies more than about 300m, you can not see the kite's pattern. If kite flies more than about 1,000m, you can hardly see it. The higher and higher kite flies in the sky, kite might be destroyed because of a strong wind.

  • Kite's stunt flying

Kite performs various stunt flying by people's hands. For example, there are turning sharply and swooping.
