The Cassians were chosen by the Eldan more than two thousands years ago to establish the Dominion. Despite the Eldan disappearance a thousand years ago, the Dominion, led by the Cassians, took control of the galaxy<ref>{{cite web|title=Wildstar official Cassian presentation|url=http://www.wildstar-online.com/en/the-game/races/cassian.php}}</ref>.
Cassians are humans who have been chosen by the Eldans two thousands years ago. There is a complex social structure within Cassian society<ref>{{cite web||last=Moore|first=Chad|title=Massively Exclusive: A closer look at WildStar's Cassians|url=http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/02/21/massively-exclusive-a-closer-look-at-wildstars-cassians/}}</ref>, but this society is not oppressive. The Cassians offer to what they consider "lower" races an opportunity to elevate themselves.

The discovery of planet Nexus is considered by the Cassians as the fullfillment of their destiny, and they will ensure that this planet is under control of the Dominion.
