Super Canal - Channel 33 is a television network operating out of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. It is one of the largest television channels in that country. It provides television programs which are available to viewers in the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Curacao and The USA.

History

  • 1979 - Cable TV Dominicana. The first cable operator in the Dominica Republic founded by Frank Jorge Elías (currently Secretary of State and Minister Counselor of the Presidency)
  • 1998 - Caribbean Cellular (Telca) was formed to contribute to the establishment of the wireless industry for Voice and Data services across the Dominica Republic.
  • 1999 - SuperCanal Group Expands television production with an investment of $ 23 million creating a structure with the highest technology.
  • 2000 - SupeCanal 33 was created to fill the growing need for a high quality channel-oriented entertainment. Available through both cable companies and by air. Reaching over 80% of the Dominican population.
  • 2001 - SuperCanal Caribbean was launched to serve the needs of Dominicans abroad. Currently is seen in more than 6 countries and on the Web in the world. Supercanal was the first channel 24/7 available overseas.
  • 2007 - Dominican View Focused on sports, news and special events. A channel designed to fill the gap in the Dominica Republic programming available in the United States.
  • 2009 - Tele El Salvador is created to meet the content needs of the 2.5 million Salvadorans living in the United States. Featuring the best of El Salvador. With over 30 years experience in television production, Supercanal Group launches first international channel of El Salvador.
