is an established tennis player who has won the 1927 Grand Slam in tennis. He was sponsored by wilson and constantly referred to as the worst tennis player to win one of four slams. Not much is known about him because he played for one year before disappearing into his home country of the USSR. Besides this Bjorn Borg and Roger Federer have admitted that this was one of the reasons they have played the sport. We know he was 5'10" and 177 lbs. His speed at getting around the ball allowed him to use his flat forehand to hit sliders on grass and fast balls on clay, the two surfaces at the time. It is acknowledged that at today's level Levi Ioffe would not have been able to succeed in tennis at all. |
