Royal College Horana is funded by [[Ministry of Education (Sri Lanka)]] and the Principal of the College heads administration. The school is divided in to two main sections "Junior" and "Senior". Junior section is from grade 1 to 5 and other from 6 to 11. Students of Royal College Horana are taught both in [[Sinhala language|Sinhala]] and [[English language|English]] medium. Upper school advance level section is divided to arts, commerce and science streams.
