|style="vertical-align: middle; padding: 3px;" | Gee, thanks. Glad you liked my contribution. I had not planned to add any further information to the Military Production During World War II page.

There are some rather interesting books extant on this topic. A couple of the best are listed on the Wikipedia page as references (Richard Overy's book "Why the Allies Won," and Arthur Herman's book "Freedom's Forge: How American Business Produced Victory in World War II" (which I added).

Another good one is "Masters of Mass Production," by Christy Borth. It was published in 1945, but a used copy may be available. Also, "Climb to Greatness," by John B. Rae is excellent.

I made eager use of all of them in writing my small book, "Building Victory: Aircraft Manufacturing in the Los Angeles Area in World War II."

As Donald Douglas said, "Here's proof that free men can out-produce slaves."

WWII
I'm sorry, I have no idea how this edit could've happened. I did not intend to delete any content.

Then again, I have to question how you dealt with his honest mistake of mine. Instead just leaving me a message on my talk page, you informed six other users and started an ANI on this, attempting to having me blocked for vandalism. What the hell? A simple "hey bender235, did you really wanted to delete all that content?" on my talk page would have been enough.

P.S: this edit, however, was legit. Wikipedia cannot be a source for itself. --bender235 (talk) 08:18, 19 July 2014 (UTC)

:Hey, Trying to figure out how to resolve things is one of the mysteries of Wikipedia for a new guy. I assumed you to be some sort of administrator making a final decision. I am still trying to understand how this place works. I brought my problem to people I thought could help, who told me in three instances to complain elsewhere. Which I did. Hence the repeated messages.

Then again, I have to question how you dealt with communications and the editing process. You obviously have more experience and skill than I, yet you did not communicate with me, open a discussion, post any questions or constructive suggestions, participate in a dialogue about constructive changes nor provide advice about Wiki editing standards. What am I to take from that? Your concern was legit, narrowly taken. All it required was a friendly inquiry, and an explanation that Wikipedia links go elsewhere, not the almost complete deletion of the new content.--Brukner (talk) 16:50, 19 July 2014 (UTC)

Using a sandbox to develop complex edits
I noticed that you have made hundreds of edits on the article on Military production during World War II in the last 24 hours. I understand why you have have done this - make edit - check it looks right - check for mistakes - correct any mistakes - better save in case Wikipedia crashes... This is where making some private sandboxes can help. For example, you could copy all or part of the article into User talk:Brukner/Sandbox1. In this sandbox you could get the part of the article you are editing right, and then post back into the main article.

Using a sandbox like that would simplify the article history, and allow you to write meaningful edit summaries.--Toddy1 (talk) 09:02, 19 July 2014 (UTC)

:Thanks for the advice. I'll try that out. It has been frustrating. cheers --Brukner (talk) 16:51, 19 July 2014 (UTC)

Battleships
It very much looks as if you are trying to compile statistics yourself. You need to use and cite sources.

I have reverted this edit. (1) It is uncited. (2) It shows that you have misunderstood.

Of the Lions two were laid down before the war, and suspended shortly after it began. Contracts for others were cancelled before the ships were laid down. i.e. the two Lions were not produced during the war - just the opposite - they were not produced because of the war. The Vanguard was under production during the war, but not completed.--Toddy1 (talk) 17:36, 19 July 2014 (UTC)

: The item I changed was added in by someone else without citation. Everyone needs to use and cite sources. This article is NOT about what was started or finished during the war, it is about what was in production. It is about the production capacity of the belligerents. I don't care that two Lions were not finished. But I do care that they were under full time construction, used resources, tied up people, and ate money. As everyone keeps shouting at me Wikipedia is NOT a reliable source. So please do not cite it. I am using the primary sources, (such as, the official histories published by the UK over 40 years), as I keep repeating. It is cited, in the reference section. --Brukner (talk) 17:45, 19 July 2014 (UTC)
::But you are not citing them. You are just typing in data, without citations.

::If you look at the articles below you will see a number of examples of ways of citing information in tables.

:::I am fixing what was a mess of unclear, dubiously sourced, or biased information. I have only just started. This entire article was deleted two days ago by a guy who said you can't cite to Wikipedia. That's fine of course, but no one cared for months about this article and now that I am attempting to fix it I am getting stuck with ridiculous comments about how bad it is. I know how bad it is. Also, the references are provided, for some items I have entered, in detail, just not in the lines. As per the policy, if something is challenged, then I can put a citation in. But I will not fill up every cell of every table with a citation. That is trash writing and unworthy of Wikipedia.--Brukner (talk) 21:23, 19 July 2014 (UTC)
::::Look at how tables were done in Prince Consort-class ironclad. This will give you a useful model.--Toddy1 (talk) 21:32, 19 July 2014 (UTC)
