Mary Rose Spiller, born 13 April 1923, is a horticulturist and teacher, who has worked at Waterperry Gardens (previously Waterperry Horticultural School with <ref>Beatrix Havergal</ref>[1]) near Thame in Oxfordshire until her 90th year (2013). Mary is the younger daughter of Reginald Spiller (Reader in Crystallography at Oxford University until his death in 1953) and his wife Olive, and has had a lifelong association with Oxfordshire, and Oxford University, gardening circles. Her lectures on a wide variety of horticultural subjects have been popular amongst gardeners in Oxfordshire for 60 years, and her influence on the development of Waterperry Gardens has been increasingly extensive over the same period[2].

Mary is the younger daughter of Reginald Spiller (Reader in Crystallography at Oxford University until his death in 1953) and his wife Olive, and has had a lifelong association with Oxfordshire, and Oxford University, gardening circles. Her lectures on a wide variety of horticultural subjects have been popular amongst gardeners in Oxfordshire for 60 years, and her influence on the development of Waterperry Gardens has been increasingly extensive over the same period[2].
