Hello {{BASEPAGENAME}}. This message is part of a mass mailing to people who appear active in reviewing articles for creation submissions. First of all, thank you for taking part in this important work! I'm sorry this message is a form letter – it really was the only way I could think of to covey the issue economically. Of course, this also means that I have not looked to see whether the matter is applicable to ''you'' in particular.<p>The issue is in rather large numbers of copyright violations ("copyvios") making their way through AfC reviews without being detected (even when easy to check, and even when [[Wikipedia:Spotting possible copyright violations|hallmarks of copyvios]] in the text that should have invited a check, were glaring). A second issue is the correct method of dealing with them when discovered.<p>If you don't do so already, I'd like to ask for your to help with this problem by taking on the practice of performing a copyvio check as the first step in any AfC review. The most basic method is to simply copy a unique but small portion of text from the draft body and run it through a search engine in quotation marks. Trying this from two different paragraphs is recommended. (If you have any question about whether the text was copied ''from the draft'', rather than the other way around (a "backwards copyvio"), the [https://archive.org/web/ Wayback Machine] is very useful for sussing that out.)<p>If you do find a copyright violation, please ''do not'' decline the draft on that basis. Copyright violations need to be dealt with immediately as they may harm those whose content is being used and expose Wikipedia to potential legal liability. If the draft is substantially a copyvio, and there's no non-infringing version to revert to, please mark the page for speedy deletion right away using <nowiki>{{db-g12|url=</nowiki><tt>URL of source</tt>}}. Hi,you reverted an edit which you said was not helpful. I replaced the image with one that I considered to be of higher quality [[Special:Contributions/81.147.131.243|81.147.131.243]] ([[User talk:81.147.131.243|talk]]) 14:51, 23 January 2015 (UTC)Charles

Most important which are not known about my native

Hi Sid, I put the details because of there is lack of resources in my native land and very convenience are available there. So let it be there which will help poor villagers who are far away from contact with govt. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mbhussain.134 (talkcontribs) 10:31, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Stage-crisis view

I dont understand why you removed all of my edits on the stage-cisis view page? Their purpose was to explain the various stages that are involved in Levinson's theory and that page is a part of a class project — Preceding unsigned comment added by Steph2016 (talkcontribs) 17:45, 10 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Stage-crisis view

Hello 7Sidz, This is J.R. Council (talk) 19:28, 10 November 2014 (UTC) Jim Council. I am the professor in History and Systems of Psychology at North Dakota State University. The stage-crisis article is an educational project to improve psychology content on Wikipedia, and is being conducted with the blessing and assistance of the Wiki Education Foundation. I've put a banner to that effect up on the article's talk page. Please give me a chance to review the changes and the reasons you reverted the page. I certainly don't want my students to get in wiki wars over their projects. I'm sure we can resolve this issue to everyone's satisfaction. Thanks, Jim J.R. Council (talk) 19:28, 10 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again. Please note that I have a Ph.D. in psychology and have taught psychology for almost 30 years, including developmental psychology. I am familiar with Levinson's theory. I have reviewed the article, and I believe the article as you have reverted it is very sketchy, and definitely a stub that needs improvement. Please be specific as to why you felt it necessary to revert the article, and which rules of Wikipedia it violated. I am sure there is some middle ground which should satisfy all involved. I am also contacting a highly experienced editor for his opinion. Thank you, Jim Council J.R. Council (talk) 19:55, 10 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there, 7Sidz. I just offering my opinion based on what I see here. James Council is right to express concern; I don't see any explanation for your reversion of the content in question, and looking at the the content itself, I don't see any obvious reason why it is problematic. If you have some rationale for it, please let us know (probably the talk page is more appropriate) so we can discuss it further. I, JethroBT drop me a line 19:17, 11 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello 7Sidz. This message is part of a mass mailing to people who appear active in reviewing articles for creation submissions. First of all, thank you for taking part in this important work! I'm sorry this message is a form letter – it really was the only way I could think of to covey the issue economically. Of course, this also means that I have not looked to see whether the matter is applicable to you in particular.

The issue is in rather large numbers of copyright violations ("copyvios") making their way through AfC reviews without being detected (even when easy to check, and even when hallmarks of copyvios in the text that should have invited a check, were glaring). A second issue is the correct method of dealing with them when discovered.

If you don't do so already, I'd like to ask for your to help with this problem by taking on the practice of performing a copyvio check as the first step in any AfC review. The most basic method is to simply copy a unique but small portion of text from the draft body and run it through a search engine in quotation marks. Trying this from two different paragraphs is recommended. (If you have any question about whether the text was copied from the draft, rather than the other way around (a "backwards copyvio"), the Wayback Machine is very useful for sussing that out.)

If you do find a copyright violation, please do not decline the draft on that basis. Copyright violations need to be dealt with immediately as they may harm those whose content is being used and expose Wikipedia to potential legal liability. If the draft is substantially a copyvio, and there's no non-infringing version to revert to, please mark the page for speedy deletion right away using {{db-g12|url=URL of source}}. If there is an assertion of permission, please replace the draft article's content with {{subst:copyvio|url=URL of source}}.

Some of the more obvious indicia of a copyvio are use of the first person ("we/our/us..."), phrases like "this site", or apparent artifacts of content written for somewhere else ("top", "go to top", "next page", "click here", use of smartquotes, etc.); inappropriate tone of voice, such as an overly informal tone or a very slanted marketing voice with weasel words; including intellectual property symbols (™,®); and blocks of text being added all at once in a finished form with no misspellings or other errors.

I hope this message finds you well and thanks again you for your efforts in this area. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 02:20, 18 November 2014 (UTC).[reply]
