Rosina Cazali

Rosina Cazali is a art critic and a Guatemalan independent curator. She serves as an advisory committee member for CIFO (The Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation).[1] Cazali currently works as a columnist for El Periódico, a Guatemalan national newspaper. She recently co-curated the 2014 Guatemalan Biennial, XIX Bienal de Arte Paiz,Cite error: The <ref> tag has too many names (see the help page). along with Cecilia Fajardo-Hill, Anabella Acevedo and Pablo José Ramírez.

Life and career

Among her notable projects are La Curandería, Colloquia, Octubreazul, and Foto30. She was a member of the first curatorial team of the Bienal de Arte Paiz, which in 2014 has had 19 editions, but prior to 2008 was not a curated event.[2]

In May 2009, Cazali and Joanne Bernstein presented Performing Localities, a series of lectures and videos on post-war Guatemalan artists such as Regina José Galindo, Dario Escobar, Ángel Poyón, and Sandra Monterroso at InIVA.[3]

In 2010 Cazali was granted a fellowship for Visual Arts Research in the field of Humanities[4] in order to develop research on Guatemalan art production between 2000 and 2010.

From 2003 to 2006 Cazali was director of the Spanish Cultural Centre in Guatemala where she started projects like the photography festival Foto 30 and the editorial project Colección Pensamiento on contemporary thought.
