"How Can We Be Lovers?" is a song by American singer and songwriter Michael Bolton, released as the second single from his sixth studio album, Soul Provider (1989). The song was written by Bolton himself, Diane Warren and Desmond Child, and produced by Child and Bolton.

The song was a chart success, peaking at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 in May 1990.
