Although the name Groove Music appears in various Microsoft websites, Windows 10, and Windows 10 Mobile, for some reason many sources and Microsoft itself simply use the term "Groove" and to make matters even more confusing the new [[Google Play]] application is called "Microsoft Groove" I don't suggest a rename, but it's clear that the naming can be confusing so I suggest that we could put alternative names in the entry in the future. --[[Special:Contributions/1.55.1.190|1.55.1.190]] ([[User talk:1.55.1.190|talk]]) 07:40, 1 August 2015 (UTC) |

The name is Groove, not Groove Music

Previously Zune Music
It should be noted that Xbox Music is from Zune Music. The only article that addresses Zune Music is Zune Software so I don't think we need to merge any articles. I agree, in the Windows folder it's named Microsoft.zunemusic and not Xbox, so it's not a different service but the SAME under a different name, thus it would be relevant to include it in the article. --86.81.201.94 (talk) 14:21, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

Logo vs. computer icon
Recently, Cloudbound replaced Xbox Music's computer icon with a logo and wordmark. I reverted because of WP:NFCC#8 and WP:NFCC#1. Here is a more detailed why:
The computer icon clear gives more information than the logo. The logo is not specific to Xbox Music; it is the Xbox logo with "Xbox Music" word written near it. As such, it is a decorative thing, used to promote Xbox brand. WP:NFC#UUI #17 says use of such logos are inappropriate. (There has been similar discussion about the generic Windows logos in WP:NFCR, in which administrator Masem used his admin power to override me and enforce WP:NFC#UUI. Only back then, there was no version-specific Windows logos.) Such non-free contents can be explained with words alone. (Of course it is nothing to explain, because what a reader is supposed to do with it?) The computer icon, on the other hand, is an important method of recognizing Xbox Music app in Windows. When this computer icon is seen (alone or with text), it represents a computer program that can be run.

Features section

Microsoft lists the name as Groove Music in several sources, a name that has been repeated by several news sites:
