The [[Dzungar Khanate]] under [[Tsewang Rabtan]] invaded Tibet in 1717, deposed the pretender to the position of Dalai Lama of [[Lha-bzang Khan]], the last ruler of the Khoshut Khanate, and killed Lhazang Khan and his entire family.
