In 2006, Love led his team to an Oregon State Championship defeating South Medford and fellow national standout [[Kyle Singler]]. The win gave Lake Oswego High School its first-ever basketball state championship.

Love is a two-time Oregon State player of the year and scored over 800 points in the 2005-2006 season.

Love was recruited from the time he was in Junior High but narrowed his college choices to UCLA and North Carolina by the spring of 2005. In late July, Love announced from Las Vegas that he intends to play for the University of Los Angeles in 2007.

Kevin Love is a high-school basketball player from Lake Oswego, OR that is generally regarded as one of the top 2 players in the nation from the Class of 2007. He will be starting his senior year in the fall of 2006 at Lake Oswego High School, and has declared that he intends to play for UCLA after graduation high school. He stands at 6'9.

In 2006, Love led his team to an Oregon State Championship defeating South Medford and fellow national standout Kyle Singler. The win gave Lake Oswego High School its first-ever basketball state championship.
